PlanePic (the "Service") handles users' personal information in accordance with the policy below.
The Service uses the following external providers to process information on our behalf. Each provider manages information appropriately under its own privacy policy.
The above subprocessors include companies located outside Japan, meaning your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside Japan. Each provider maintains appropriate security safeguards in line with international standards. We do not disclose personal information to any third party other than these subprocessors, except where required by law.
Uploaded photos and records are visible only to you by default. If you generate a share link, or set a list as public, that information becomes visible to others. You can change or revoke these visibility settings yourself at any time.
The Service uses cookies only for the following purposes. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party analytics.
Both cookies are necessary for the Service to function; if you disable cookies, features such as staying logged in and remembering your language setting may not work correctly.
Your account and related data are retained until you request deletion, or for as long as required by applicable law. You may permanently delete your own account and all related data at any time from the Profile page.
Because PlanePic is operated from Japan, requests are handled under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Subject to that law, you may request:
You can delete your account and all related data yourself from the Profile page at any time. For any other request, please contact us using the details below; we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland: you additionally have rights under the GDPR (or the equivalent UK/Swiss law), including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process your data on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the Service) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service. We do not rely on cookie-based consent for tracking or advertising, because we do not use such cookies (see Section 5).
The Service does not accept registrations from anyone under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user between 13 and 18 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, we will delete it promptly upon becoming aware.
In the event of, or risk of, a leak, loss, or damage to personal data, we will promptly take the necessary steps required by law, including reporting to Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission and notifying affected individuals.
